ESSAY 10—ORTHODOXY OF THOUGHT

If speech is suppressed the loss is a healthy democracy. Wars, tragedies, oppression all happen at the hands of government; unrestrained by robust ideas. Hegemony of thought is a form of religion. The danger comes when governments use this orthodoxy, power and brutality to control people.
